Traffic has undoubtedly increased over the past few years in Kentucky, especially in urban, highly populated areas like Louisville and Lexington. This increase in traffic contributes to the increase of car crashes and road fatalities. Some of the most common car accidents that happen  include:

• Rear-end collisions → when one vehicle rear ends another vehicle while driving.

• Parked car accidents → after hitting a parked car, it is important to leave a note with contact information if the owner is not present, take pictures/videos of the scene, and look for witnesses.

• T-bone accidents → when the front of a car collides into the side of another vehicle, creating the  “T” shape.

• Sideswipes → when two vehicles are driving the same direction alongside one another and one vehicle crosses into the other lane. The sides of the vehicles then “swipe” together.

• Hit-and-runs → when a driver involved in an accident leaves the scene before exchanging information or waiting for police to arrive (which can result in serious criminal charges).

• Low-speed collisions → not all accidents happen at high-speeds; these are collisions that happen under ten (10) MPH.

Each type of car accident is an outcome of either negligent driving, human error, or natural and unavoidable conditions. Each of these above can cause serious harm.
